London City Airport Development Project Multi Utility Installation

The Hartmann Road Utilities project consisted of the installation of various services along Hartmann Road and surrounding areas to the south of the London City Airport Campus.
CBS were required to maintain the use of Hartmann Road whilst the works were undertaken, and also have no impact on the operation of the Airport and the

Airport’s Stakeholders. This was achieved by implementing a robust traffic management plan, continuous stakeholder liaison and completing works efficiently in shortened phasing and sequencing.

The Hartmann Road Utilities project included the following works;

–  Construction of shared UKPN & SSE electrical substation.

  • Installation of pit and duct system for low voltage/high voltage electrical cabling along Hartmann Road and included several branches north to feed new and existing infrastructure.
  • Installation of a new 225mm HDPE fire main
  • Installation of low temperature hot water supply connect new infrastructure as part of the development project.
  • Installation of a new 315mm gas main
  • Installation of a new potable water supply
  • Installation of pit and duct system for communication cables across the dockside and
  • forecourt area of works, feeding new and existing infrastructure.
  • Installation of 150mm surface water drainage to facilitate new and temporary buildings as part of the CADP scope of works.
